Sports Massage
We all experience bodily tensions, stresses and strains at some point in our lives. These can be the result of poor posture, repetitive strain, injury, or general ‘wear and tear’. Many sports carry with them the risk of injury, especially if they are contact sports. Without intervention of some sort, these tensions can become chronic and debilitating.
Sports therapy and massage can be extremely beneficial for many reasons, including:
- Improved general circulation, which in turn can help improve the health or recovery of other systems in the body.
- Improved lymphatic circulation, which filters out toxins in the body.
- Breaking down of scar tissue by breaking down adhesions and fibrous tissue.
- Improved tissue flexibility leading to greater range and freedom of movement.
- Relaxation and a reduction in pain as a result of nervous stimulation. This can have a positive effect on some minor and even major medical conditions, for example high blood pressure, insomnia and migraines.
Whether you require assistance in the recovery from injury, have a specific sports injury or localized area of tension that needs assessing, or whether you just want a body massage to ease everyday stresses and tensions, I have a Certificate in Sports Massage that enables me to offer this service in the privacy of your own home.
